Portraits will be supplied mounted with a backing board ready to frame. The sizes here are the frame size, not the image size. These sizes are standard frame sizes which are readily available.
Prices are for the animal only without a background, although I'm happy to include one. Please ask me for a quote if you would like a background included.
Commissions Pricing
My current prices are below and will be reviewed with effect from 1st July 2026. Any bookings taken up to and including 30th June will be at the current prices as shown below.
Payment terms are as follows:
£20 to secure a slot in my diary
Remaining 50% of the booking fee payable before commencement
Final 50% balance payment payable on completion and prior to despatch
Payment in instalments is always an option - please just ask
£10 voucher towards a future portrait for you or a friend
10% off horse (or pony) portrait commissions until 30/06/26 - please contact me for details
UK Delivery
I currently only send to the UK.
Your portrait will be well packaged and will be sent via Royal Mail tracked and signed for service.
The delivery charge is £7.50 or you are more than welcome to collect - it's always lovely to put a face to a name!
Drawings in my Online Shop:
Some of the pieces in my online shop have been drawn as part of a group drawing session or tutorial. These pieces may be priced lower than equivalent sized original pieces I've drawn and commissioned portraits. Whilst they are original drawings, they are not 'one-off' pieces. The lower prices also reflect the fact that much of the decision-making has been done for me - composition, line art, colour choices. In some cases, the drawings were relatively quick to produce and I've also taken this into account.
What Size to Choose?
The wall space you have in mind will often dictate the size and / or shape and I will provide a mockup to help you visualise how the drawing will look in the frame. I've also put together some examples of previously completed mounted drawings which you can download here. Please contact me if you would like advice regarding the size.

This is a good question!
The way I see it is that a photo captures a moment in time but a carefully hand drawn portrait can capture a lifetime of memories and the special bond between an animal and owner. Having recently drawn two of our own cats who have crossed the rainbow bridge, I also realise the comfort that a portrait can bring - I love seeing them on the shelves when I walk into the sitting room.
Why have a portrait when you can take a photo?
